Financing for Growth and Sustainability
Course Overview
This course aims to teach students the essentials of corporate finance that is required by senior management. Students are required to take, prior to taking this course, the Harvard Business School online finance course, which will provide them with basic finance theory necessary to understand what will be taught in this course.
Topics that will be covered will include risk and return, cost of capital, investment decisions, capital structure, payout policies, corporate valuation, and corporate financing. This course will be taught not only from the point of view of maximizing value for the shareholders, but also taking into consideration sustainability of corporate activity, as well as balancing stakeholder interests.
Course Structure
This course will be taught using cases studies and lectured discussions with power point slides. Most recent topics featured in the news will be introduced and discussed to make the learning as practical as possible.
